This Privacy Policy explains how B2 Technologies LLC, doing business as Carbon Ticket ("Carbon Ticket," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Carbon Ticket website, ticketing platform, accounts, event pages, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy should be read together with Carbon Ticket's Terms & Conditions, which govern use of the Services and contain additional information concerning Carbon Ticket's role, Event Organizers, ticket purchases, accounts, third-party services, and other matters.
By using the Services or providing information through Carbon Ticket, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Carbon Ticket's Role
As described in our Terms & Conditions, Carbon Ticket provides ticketing technology and related services to independent Event Organizers.
Unless Carbon Ticket is expressly identified as the Event Organizer for a particular event, the applicable Event Organizer is responsible for the event and the ticket offering associated with that event.
Because Carbon Ticket operates the ticketing platform on behalf of Event Organizers, information collected through the Services may be used by Carbon Ticket and may also be provided to the applicable Event Organizer as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Services.
Information You Provide
We may collect information you provide when you:
- purchase or reserve a ticket;
- register for an event;
- create or use a Carbon Ticket account;
- contact Carbon Ticket or an Event Organizer;
- submit a support request;
- complete a registration form or questionnaire;
- interact with an event page;
- use ticket check-in or related services; or
- otherwise provide information through the Services.
This information may include:
- name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- billing or contact information;
- account information;
- ticket and order information;
- event registration information;
- seating or ticket selections;
- attendee information;
- responses to questions requested by an Event Organizer;
- check-in or attendance information;
- communications with Carbon Ticket or an Event Organizer; and
- other information you choose to provide.
Some Event Organizers may request additional information that is reasonably necessary for their particular event or organization.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Services, Carbon Ticket and the technology providers supporting the Services may automatically receive certain technical information.
This may include information such as:
- IP address;
- browser type;
- device type;
- operating system;
- pages or features accessed;
- date and time of access;
- referring pages;
- approximate location derived from an IP address;
- session information; and
- other technical or diagnostic information.
We may use cookies and similar technologies as necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and understand use of the Services.
3. How We Use Information
Carbon Ticket may use information collected through the Services to:
- process and administer ticket purchases and registrations;
- generate and deliver tickets, confirmations, and receipts;
- provide account access and order history;
- provide information to the applicable Event Organizer;
- support event registration and check-in;
- respond to questions and support requests;
- communicate important information concerning an order, account, event, or the Services;
- prevent fraud, misuse, or unauthorized access;
- maintain the security and reliability of the Services;
- troubleshoot technical problems;
- operate, maintain, and improve Carbon Ticket;
- maintain appropriate business, transaction, and accounting records;
- enforce our agreements and policies;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- protect Carbon Ticket, Event Organizers, users, and others.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for operational, analytical, reporting, or service-improvement purposes where the information does not reasonably identify an individual.
4. Information Provided to Event Organizers
When you purchase a ticket, register for an event, or otherwise interact with an Event Organizer through Carbon Ticket, certain information may be provided to the Organizer responsible for that event.
As further described in our Terms & Conditions, this information may include:
- names;
- contact information;
- ticket information;
- registration information;
- purchase information;
- attendance or check-in status;
- responses provided during registration; and
- other information reasonably necessary to administer the event or the Organizer's legitimate organizational activities.
An Event Organizer may use this information for purposes such as registration, check-in, event communications, attendee records, conference administration, organizational records, customer service, and other legitimate activities associated with its events or organization.
Information provided to an Event Organizer is not necessarily anonymous or de-identified.
Carbon Ticket's Terms & Conditions prohibit Event Organizers from selling, renting, licensing, or otherwise providing personal information obtained through Carbon Ticket to third parties for unrelated advertising, marketing, data-brokerage, or other unrelated commercial purposes unless that use was clearly disclosed and appropriately authorized when the information was collected.
Once information has been properly provided to an Event Organizer, that Organizer is independently responsible for its subsequent handling, use, and protection of the information.
5. Payments and Payment Providers
Ticket payments may be processed through third-party payment-processing services designated for the applicable Event Organizer, as described in our Terms & Conditions.
Those providers may collect and process payment information necessary to complete a transaction and may maintain information in accordance with their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, and legal obligations.
Carbon Ticket may receive information concerning a transaction, such as payment status, transaction identifiers, purchase amount, refunds, and other information necessary to administer the ticket transaction and provide the Services.
The privacy and security practices of independent payment providers are governed by their own policies.
6. Service Providers and Third Parties
Carbon Ticket relies on third-party products and services to operate the Services.
These may include providers of:
- website and server hosting;
- payment processing;
- email delivery;
- software and technology infrastructure;
- security and fraud-prevention services;
- data storage and backup;
- communications; and
- other services necessary to operate Carbon Ticket.
We may provide these parties with information reasonably necessary for them to perform services on our behalf or support the operation of the Services.
Third-party services may also collect information directly and may be governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Carbon Ticket may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and maintain the Services.
These technologies may be used to:
- maintain login or session information;
- remember preferences;
- support shopping-cart and checkout functionality;
- provide security and fraud prevention;
- maintain website functionality;
- diagnose technical problems; and
- understand how the Services are being used.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may prevent portions of Carbon Ticket from functioning correctly.
8. Sale of Personal Information
Carbon Ticket does not sell personal information obtained through ticket purchases or Carbon Ticket customer accounts.
Carbon Ticket may disclose information to Event Organizers and service providers for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions. Such disclosures are made to provide and operate the Services and are not a sale of personal information by Carbon Ticket for monetary compensation.
Nothing in this section limits rights available under applicable privacy law.
9. Data Retention
Carbon Ticket may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:
- provide the Services;
- maintain transaction and ticket records;
- provide purchaser or Organizer support;
- maintain business and accounting records;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- resolve disputes;
- enforce agreements; and
- satisfy applicable legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
Different types of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, Carbon Ticket may delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it as appropriate.
10. Information Security
Carbon Ticket uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no website, database, network, transmission method, or internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
As described in our Terms & Conditions, use of internet-based Services necessarily involves certain technology and security risks.
Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should notify Carbon Ticket if they believe an account or ticket has been accessed or used without authorization.
11. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and the laws applicable to you, you may have rights concerning personal information maintained by Carbon Ticket.
These rights may include the ability to request:
- information about personal information Carbon Ticket maintains about you;
- access to certain personal information;
- correction of inaccurate information;
- deletion of certain information; or
- other rights provided by applicable law.
Certain information may need to be retained even after a request for deletion, including records required for legitimate business, transaction, security, accounting, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes.
Carbon Ticket may also need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Requests concerning information controlled independently by an Event Organizer may need to be directed to that Organizer.
Privacy-related requests may be submitted using Carbon Ticket's contact or support information.
12. Communications
Carbon Ticket may send transactional or service-related communications that are necessary to provide the Services, including:
- order confirmations;
- tickets;
- receipts;
- account notices;
- event-related notices;
- security messages; and
- support communications.
Some communications concerning an event may be sent by or on behalf of the applicable Event Organizer.
Transactional or operational communications are different from optional promotional communications and may still be sent when necessary to administer an existing transaction, account, or event.
13. Children's Privacy
Carbon Ticket is a general-audience ticketing service and is not intended to collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.
Parents, guardians, or other purchasers may purchase tickets for children or provide attendee information concerning children when necessary for an event.
If Carbon Ticket becomes aware that personal information has been collected directly from a child under 13 in circumstances requiring parental consent and appropriate consent was not obtained, Carbon Ticket may take reasonable steps to delete or otherwise address that information.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
Event pages or other portions of the Services may contain links to websites or services operated by Event Organizers, venues, payment providers, social-media platforms, or other third parties.
Carbon Ticket does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.
Information you provide directly to another website or service is subject to that party's privacy practices.
15. Legal and Safety Disclosures
Carbon Ticket may use, preserve, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- enforce Carbon Ticket's agreements or policies;
- investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of Carbon Ticket, Event Organizers, users, or others; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
16. Business Changes
If Carbon Ticket or B2 Technologies LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale, reorganization, financing, transfer of assets, or similar business transaction, information associated with the Services may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Carbon Ticket may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The Last Updated date at the top of this Privacy Policy identifies the date of the current version.
Changes will become effective when the updated Privacy Policy is posted unless another effective date is stated or applicable law requires otherwise.
